Meet Mitsy!

In today’s pastel class, all students could bring in a reference photo of their favorite pet. I completely forgot to bring something to class, and to be honest… If someone would ask me what I’d like to paint most, I would definitely answer (urban) landscapes.

Painting animals is a bit out of my comfort zone, but when I saw a photo of Donna’s cute little dog I couldn’t resist. Right away I was struck by the many ingredients this photo offered up: the cute ponytail, the playful appearance, the harmonious composition/ pose and the richness of colors. This was going to be fun to paint!
